Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Perform exemplary services to our customers as expected of a Master Barber
- Oversee all barber related services and ensure all established protocols are being adhered to and delivered as expected.
- Ensure junior team members are consistently delivering and presenting the Chivalry brand and setting the expectation through the delivery of service.
- Ensure membership sales message and retail recommendations are delivered properly through complete training and monitoring of all team members.
- Build high level of team satisfaction through positive example and strong positive leadership skills to attract and retain the best talent.
- Maintain immaculate work stations, tools and common areas
- Be responsible to your schedule, to your team members, and your guests
- Contribute to facility being visually “Picture Ready”, crisp, clean and set to company standards including promotional executions and displays.
- Responsibly recommend professional products to maintain your guests needs
- Ensure all barber team members are 100% compliant with OSHA and State Regulations.
- Coordinate all barber training and development events as required.
- Consistently meet with management in setting forth goals and achievements under guidelines provided
- Consistently promote brand awareness and a culture of excellence through example.
- Participate actively in team events, charity and promotional activities and team meetings
Qualifications:
- A current Massachusetts Master Barber license that is in good standing
- 5 Years Experience, Advanced skills in barbering, hair, straight razor shaves, customer service and high level professionalism for the discerning client
- Must be willing to participate actively in our mentoring and training program and attend continuing educational events
- Need to reflect professionalism at all times and respect the policies and procedures and standards of the brand company
- Understand and perform duties and responsibilities as outlined in job description and set forth by management
- Need to be able to set a positive example in impeccable presentation in both image and attitude with fashion-forward appearance
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Flexible schedule and ability to fill in any position as needed.
- Accountability to performance of team and overall company productivity.
- Dynamic leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.

Barbers/Stylists
Responsible for using scissors or clippers to trim, cut, shave, or shape hair for Chivalry clients. Provides consultation to client, selects equipment, cuts hair, styles, and then blow-dries and finishes hair. Barbers will work under the guidance and advice of Chivalry Master Barbers and perform services that adhere to defined Chivalry standards and protocols.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Cut, trim, and shape hair into desired style.
- Utilize clippers, combs, rushes, scissors, and blow-out guns to style and cut hair.
- Apply lather using a thick brush chin, cheeks, and neck.
- Use razor to shave beard or mustache.
- Shape hair on temple and neck.
- Perform consultation to get the client’s opinion on desired hairstyle.
- Apply product such as mousse or serum to hair.
- Cut and style hair.
- Apply lotion after shaving
- Massage face, neck, or scalp.
- Apply hot towels on face to open pores.
- Use blow dryer to dry hair
- Give client mirror to check color/cut.
- Use scissors to correct stray hair or sides that appear longer
- Cut bangs
- Shave sideburns or back or neck
- Sweep up hair around station
- Stock shelves with products
- Promote membership services
- Sell products or cosmetic supplies
Qualifications:
- A current Massachusetts Barber and/or Cosmetologist license that is in good standing
- Strong skills in barbering, hair, customer service and high level professionalism for the discerning client
- Knowledge of methods for safeguarding tools and equipment
- Ability to multi-task and handle numerous challenges at once while demonstrating good judgment and time management skills.
- Knowledge of the methods and equipment used in giving hair treatments
- Knowledge of the sanitary practices and safety precautions necessary to the work
- 1-3 years of experience performing barber/stylist services in barbershop or salon environment
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Knowledge of the behavior and needs of clients
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Problem-solving and creative thinking skills to deal effectively with demands of the moment.
